Blind embosses created with textiles sourced from vintage fairs and charity shops. The domestic textiles have been passed down through the generations and all carry hidden narratives and memories.
The domestic items include crochet doilies, tray cloths and decorative edgings, all now seldom used in everyday life. Traditional sewing techniques, such as crochet, have sadly become less relevant but need to be kept alive and the embossing technique is a way of bringing the items into the present.
All embossed onto 300gsm Somerset paper and then worked into with a graphite pencil to enhance the detail and create my own direct mark on the vintage linen prints.
