Lost Senses

In 1844 the University of Giessen conferred upon Kitto the degree of D.D. (Doctor of Divinity) and the following year he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Antiquaries. In 1850 he received a pension for life from the Government, but died on 25 November 1854 in Germany, aged fifty years.
