House on the Hill
Research-led project uncovering hidden narratives of Nancy Astor and her many associations with Plymouth. As the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons in 1919, Astor paved the way for women in politics, and her sharp wit, strong opinions and ‘Astorisms’ were well-known throughout parliament.
